 Mumbai, Nov 28: India is a cricket crazy nation and loves its weekly dose of cinematic dazzle too. What if both of these national passions come together in a no-holds barred filmy take on the lives of two of India’s biggest heart throbs- MS Dhoni and Shah Rukh Khan- albeit in a role reversed situation? Well, at least SRK thinks it is ‘good fun’.
The advertisement for a consumer durables giant shows Dhoni stepping into King Khan's shoes and vice versa. While Dhoni is seen dancing to Om Shanti Om’s songs, SRK takes to the willow.
So did Shah Rukh give Dhoni any acting tips? “Not at all. Dhoni was already done with his sequence by the time I arrived. He was too good. In fact I needed his help in picking up the heavy bat,” the superstar told Zee News in an exclusive interview.
So how did this ‘team’ got selected? Khan says he had wanted to work with the Indian ODI captain since long and when both of them got associated with the consumer durable company, he just grabbed the opportunity. But, modest as he is, SRK refused to take any credit for the idea. “It is the creative team of Pushpendra that brought out the concept. Its about taking whatever work you do to its ideal conclusion. If it works they are responsible, if not the blame lies on me,” he added.
“But the problem was that his iconic hair style had changed when we shot the ad so he had to be given a wig. I also tried to relate my acting with how cricketers react after hitting a good shot- so you see me flicking the long locks and thanking God,” he said.
At the end of the shoot Shah Rukh asked Dhoni for an autograph for his kids. He agreed but on one condition- that SRK would sign on his golden jacket. Khan, ofcourse, obliged. |
